We Are Carbon Negative
We Are Carbon Negative:
We’re delighted to announce that Rabbit Hill Park has achieved carbon negative status, marking an important milestone in our ongoing commitment to sustainability and reducing our environmental impact.
We recently worked with Mark Thwaite, Managing Director of CarbonNow, to undertake a comprehensive carbon footprint audit. This enabled us to measure and benchmark our emissions, assess our existing environmental initiatives and identify further opportunities to reduce our carbon footprint.
Supporting a Greener Future at Rabbit Hill Park:
Located between Harrogate and York, Rabbit Hill Park is home to a thriving community of rural entrepreneurs, with high-quality industrial warehouses and office space set within a beautiful former agricultural landscape.
Alongside our on-site café, extensive parking facilities and high-speed broadband, we continue to invest in sustainable infrastructure, including solar panels that generate a significant proportion of the Park’s electricity and electric vehicle charging points.
Sustainability has long been a priority for our team. By measuring our carbon emissions, we can better understand our environmental impact, establish meaningful benchmarks and develop a clear strategy for further reductions.
Our commitment includes investment in renewable energy, alongside carbon sequestration through extensive tree and hedge planting. These initiatives have helped us achieve a position where our carbon offsetting exceeds our measured emissions, resulting in a carbon negative footprint.
A Continued Commitment to Carbon Reduction:
While achieving carbon negative status is a significant achievement, we recognise that sustainability is an ongoing journey. Our carbon footprint mapping exercise has provided valuable insight into how we can improve further, and we are committed to continuing our work towards a more sustainable future.
Richard Kay, Managing Director of Rabbit Hill Park, said:
“Working with Mark has been incredibly insightful. The carbon mapping exercise has given us a much clearer understanding of our environmental impact and identified several strategies to reduce our carbon footprint even further. We plan to implement these over the next 12 months.
“I would highly recommend Mark and the team at CarbonNow to any business looking to understand its carbon emissions and begin its own carbon mapping journey.”
Mark Thwaite, Managing Director of CarbonNow, said:
“Working with Richard and the team at Rabbit Hill Park has been an absolute pleasure. They provided us with access to all the data we needed, allowing us to carry out a thorough carbon audit.
“Rabbit Hill Park now has a bespoke carbon report to guide its sustainability strategy, and we’re already discussing further opportunities to work together, including supporting the other brilliant businesses based at the Park.”
Building a More Sustainable Business Community:
Achieving carbon negative status reflects Rabbit Hill Park’s commitment to responsible business practices, renewable energy and environmental improvement.
We look forward to building on this achievement, implementing our carbon reduction strategies and working with our business community to support a greener future.
